A Bit More About Me..

My name is Ashling Antolin, I'm 23-years-old, and I'm extremely passionate about all things entertainment. I graduated from California State University, Fullerton in May 2019 with a degree in communications and an emphasis in broadcast journalism. My ultimate dream job is to host red carpets for E! and to eventually host a show or segment with them. However, I am a woman with MANY dream jobs at this point.

My college experience at Cal State Fullerton was amazing, I joined a sorority my freshman year and remained a member  all 4 years. I am an alumni of Alpha Chi Omega. My sorority experience is something I hold very close to my heart. Alpha Chi gave me my closest friends, the most amazing memories, and some really great opportunities. My chapter's philanthropy is domestic violence awareness and it's a cause I was fortunate enough to contribute to as a member of Alpha Chi. On my "about" page there are links to a few of the many causes that I care about; one of the links is to a website for Laura's House. Laura's House is a women's shelter that is specifically for women who are escaping dangerous situations. You can learn more about the organization there & you can even donate on their website! 

Alongside my passion for all things entertainment, I'm obsessed with social media. You can always find me on top of the latest Twitter posts & completely up-to-date on TikTok trends. I love scrolling through Instagram to keep up with the people in my life, but it definitely falls into 3rd place when ranking my favorite socials.  

My favorite band is Panic! At The Disco, I have seen them in concert 4 times and I refuse to stop. Brendon Urie is one of the greatest performers to ever exist, don't try to change my mind. My favorite time that I saw them was the Summer Tour 2016 where they toured with Weezer. It was a magical experience. Some of my other favorite artists include, Post Malone, Mac Miller, Drake, Khalid, Bad Bunny, J Balvin, Ariana Grande, Travis Scott, and SZA. There's a ton of artists who's music I also love, but these are definitely my favorites. I basically love all types of music except that screaming/yelling stuff and country…you'll NEVER catch me listening to country music EVER. 

My love for music goes far and wide, but more than that, I'm a show fanatic. I consider myself a Game of Thrones enthusiast & could talk about battles, episodes, and characters for hours. My favorite character is Tyrion, of course. Honorable mentions for favorites include: Grey Worm, Arya, Jon, and Tormund. Let's talk GoT, anytime. Besides GoT, Netflix & Hulu are home to my all time favorite shows. Peaky Blinders, How to Get Away With Murder, Scandal, Handmaids Tale, Dexter, & Ozark are all on my top shows list. If you haven't seen some of these shows, I'd recommend them to anyone. As of August 2020 I've watched over 45 shows start-to-finish, this includes shows that are between seasons. I have a recommendation for just about every genre. If you need a new show to watch, I'm definitely the girl you want to ask. 

Let's talk mental health! I'm a HUGE advocate for therapy, I have been going to therapy for almost 4 years and it was the best thing I've ever done. It makes me sad when I see a negative stigma surrounding therapy, so I try to talk about my experience very openly to make people feel more comfortable. I'm very lucky that I have access to these resources. Just know that it's okay to not be okay, and it's okay to ask for help. I will happily talk about this with anyone, please feel free to ask about this as well if you'd like to know more or if you would like some resources!
